Jean-Étienne Fougerole is a leading figure on the French literary and media scene. He is a humanist intellectual married to a wealthy heiress who is out of touch with reality. As Fougerole promotes his new novel ‘À bras ouverts’ (With Open Arms) in a televised debate, inviting the wealthy to welcome those in need into their homes, his opponent challenges him to apply what he advocates in his book. Cornered and stung, Fougerole took his opponent at his word and accepted the challenge so as not to lose face. But that very evening, the doorbell rings at his sumptuous house in Marnes-La-Coquette… Fougerole’s convictions are about to be put to the test!
