THE MOVIE

A man repaints his apartment. Using objects, photos and drawings, he immerses himself in his past. His future seems so bleak that he ends up painting the whole apartment black, including the windows, until it’s pitch black.

ABOUT THE MOVIE

Shooting took just 7 days, with a crew of three. Each shot was filmed in a single take and is projected as is. No cuts were made during editing.

Jean de Baroncelli wrote in Le Monde: “This film is a nightmare. A nightmare that everything suggests was personally experienced by the author. These images are like sentences scribbled on the pages of a diary. One thinks of Dostoyevsky, Pavese. First-person “cinéma-vérité”. The violence and simplicity of a cry for help. No intermediary between raw emotion and its cinematic expression.”
