THE MOVIE

Emmanuèle Bernheim and Alain Cavalier have been friends for thirty years. They were preparing a film based on the novelist’s autobiographical book, and all went well. In it, she recounts how her father asked her to ‘get it over with’ following a heart attack. Cavalier suggests that she play herself and that he play her father. One winter morning, Emmanuèle called Alain; the filming would have to be postponed until spring, as she had to undergo emergency surgery.
