The documentary
Médecines d’Outre-mer sets out to discover traditional medicines as they are practiced today in the French overseas territories. In these territories, the intermingling of peoples and the confrontation of knowledge from different horizons have given rise to a very particular approach to health.
This collection brings together the traditional know-how of the shamans of Amazonia, the herbalists of Reunion Island, the Kanak healers of New Caledonia and the age-old medicine of Polynesia, in the heart of the most beautiful overseas landscapes.
