The documentary
In the West Indies, everyone knows about it. 9 out of 10 people have it in their blood. It’s an endocrine disruptor that makes Martinique the world champion in prostate cancer. Because of it, the number of premature babies is constantly rising. It has contaminated a third of farmland, tubers, meat and eggs; it has polluted springs and rivers, and affected fish and seafood.
It’s a toxic, persistent pesticide that we won’t get rid of for centuries. For a few more bananas, it has contaminated everything… right down to politics.
