THE MOVIE

Portrait n°1 – Jacquotte : Once a year, in July, on the way to her holidays, for a few hours, Jacquotte relives her childhood in the untouched house of her beloved parents. They died a long time ago, but nothing has been touched. One day, they may have to sell.

Portrait n°2 – Daniel : Before leaving his flat, Daniel checks ten times that he has turned off all the windows and taps. Obsessed with cleanliness, he goes through a ritual of washing his hands. He goes down to the café to scratch off the many offers from La Française des Jeux. Before he gave up, he was a very talented film-maker. Why does he never want to talk about it? He jokes and moves on.

Portrait n° 3 – Guillaume : Four o’clock in the morning, Guillaume is the first to arrive at work before his team. By the end of the day, he’ll have sold all his cakes and bread because they’re so good. In the evenings, he and his wife Jasmine dream of buying a bigger and better bakery.

Portrait n° 4 – Philippe : An actress, an Academician, a boxer, a comedian, Philippe, a complete athlete of the television interview, prepares to interview them one after the other. Half an hour each, without erasures, in one afternoon. He takes pills to calm his nerves. He expects the marathon to be tough.

Portrait n° 5 – Bernard – With makeshift lighting, on the stage of a small theatre in Beauvais, Bernard, an actor, performs for the first time a play he has written and in which he is the sole actor. He moves the audience, but he can’t yet imagine where this performance will lead him…

Portrait 6 – Léon : This morning, Léon the cobbler posts a sign in his shop, which he has run for forty-six years: ‘Closing in two months. Panic among the locals, who adore this Armenian with a superb heart and an astonishing face. Is it possible to extend his presence any longer ?
