The documentary
Who can say where Tuva is? On the other side of the world, lost in the valleys where Genghis Khan grew up, yet it is here, in the smallest republic in Russia, that lives Svetlana, a woman with an extraordinary destiny, who, isolated from everything and everyone, is waging a unique struggle.
Alone in the midst of this sublime but hostile nature, she raises a herd of a hundred reindeer. A sacred animal, once a symbol of Tuva, the reindeer has deserted the enclosures: it has returned to the wild. This woman, who has decided to reclaim the ancestral tradition of herding, holds the future of her region in her hands. She knows that the reindeer are now their only wealth, their only hope…
Through Svetlana’s daily story, we see the quest of a country and an entire people for survival.
